It was always “Mr.” and not just “Clark”) are some of the happier moments he chose to share. Clark Gable (which is how he would retell the story she says. It seemed this acceptance and friendship he received from a big star like Mr. My grandmother (who is turning 99 this year!) to this day still reminds us of her brother-in-law’s numerous stories of driving around Clark Gable to star-studded events and what a “classy and nice guy” he was to my granduncle. The stories that they did share with us as kids were the good ones-like how my grandfather’s brother worked as a limousine driver in Hollywood and drove around many of its stars. My grandmother (I never met my grandfather as he died before I was born) doesn’t talk about the bad things, like the segregation, prejudice and other challenges and hardships that they faced, but I would sometimes overhear some of those sad stories in whispers when I was a little girl (most of which I was too young to understand). On my mom’s side, my grandfather’s two older brothers were the first to put down roots in the United States when they immigrated to Los Angeles in the 1940s after serving in the military helping the U.S. These past few weeks I’ve reflected on my personal past traumas and the traumas of my parents and ancestors. We’ve got a lot more work to do, and we can’t really “work” if we’re sick. Express gratitude, spread kindness and love, meditate, smoke a bowl, make passionate love, eat healthy foods, watch movies with puppies and kittens, practice safe social distancing & fight the good fight-do what you gotta do to keep your body strong and in good health. What I will say is this: love and hug your loved ones if you can, when you can. And it’s hard to say, “don’t stress” while we’re in a global pandemic, a civil rights movement, a recession, and people are dying because of it. The Nervous system (the pilot of our bodies) is central to all of this because it regulates the autonomic nervous system and interprets potential threats, signaling the other systems to react. The Gastrointestinal system and its moving parts are all affected from difficulty swallowing, heartburn-like symptoms, to nausea & vomiting and our bowels. When the Endocrine system is affected it increases its production of glucocorticoids, including cortisol production of steroid “Stress hormones.” The overproduction of these hormones is directly linked to obesity & diabetes, among other diseases. Our Immune system (making us more susceptible to getting sick) our Musculoskeletal system (giving us headaches and migraines) the Respiratory system (heavy breathing, shortness of breath) Cardiovascular (the increase in heart rate and blood pressure, which in the long-term can increase the risk for strokes, heart attacks & hypertension). Like a disease, stress takes over our bodies and all its systems. Ain’t that the truth? How many of you feel like you’ve aged a decade in this administration? Hell, the past 6 months? Stress has its obvious affects on us, whether it’s biting nails, teeth grinding, losing sleep, not eating, overeating -to more deeply rooted effects like depression, anxiety, high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes. Trump hasn’t aged.” And then she said something even more profound-“But WE have. Then she mentioned Trump, who has not aged at all. shrunk a few inches & Clinton grew a weird thing on his nose. Have you looked in the mirror lately and thought about how much you’ve aged in the past year? Past 4? I watched Wanda Sykes’ Stand-Up special, “Not Normal” on the other night (highly recommend!), and she recounted a discernible observation-the major stress of the job as POTUS clearly has shown its effects on past presidents: Obama went full-on gray within 2 years as POTUS. In another attempt to clamp down on malicious behavior, the platform announced Tuesday it is moving to charge labels and distributors by track when “flagrant” artificial streaming is suspected. “There’s been an ongoing conversation this entire year of the value of music and how something like someone just putting up white noise is different than paying for an artist that had spent a year in the studio making the album with all kinds of instruments and people involved,” Guz told CNN. Guz explained that there has been rising pressure from labels and artists to change the way Spotify makes distinctions between functional noise and music. “Obviously white noise is very different from ‘Bohemian Rhapsody,’ but it, currently under this model, is paid the same,” Marina Guz, chief commercial officer at Endel, an AI-driven functional music company partnered with Universal Music Group, told CNN. “It can’t be that an Ed Sheeran stream is worth exactly the same as a stream of rain falling on the roof,” Robert Kync, Warner Music Group CEO, said in a May earnings call, a sentiment echoed by other music executives. The functional genre includes nature sounds, white noise, sound effects and silence recordings. While Spotify did not state how much the platform would be devaluing the streams, Billboard reported that functional tracks would now be worth one-fifth of their music counterparts. Since streaming royalties are paid out partly based on the amount of times a track is played and sounds like white noise are often listened to for hours, Spotify says creators are shortening sounds to as little as 30 seconds (the platform’s current minimum track length) and looping playlists so that the same clip gets listened to over and over again, bumping up streaming numbers and royalty cash outs. Until now, creators of functional sounds have been able to game Spotify’s streaming system to maximize revenue with minimal effort. In an attempt to crack down on “bad actors” using the genre to fraudulently generate revenue, Spotify announced in a blog post Tuesday it would be increasing the minimum track length for functional noise recordings to two minutes, as well as valuing streams of the sounds at a “fraction of the value” of music track streams.Ī sound featuring 30 seconds of white noise has thus far been worth the same as an artist’s original music track, creating a “revenue opportunity for noise uploaders well beyond their contribution to listeners,” according to Spotify, and creating frustration throughout the music industry. Any reproduction or republication of all or part of this text/visual/audio is prohibited.Spotify’s new royalty system means so-called functional noises like the sound of rainfall will earn significantly less than traditional music files. Some shaky internet research reveals that he’s the same height as Chan and Biao, but around 60 pounds heavier, which makes him an incredible athlete and martial artist, in addition to being a fine comedic and action actor. Good for him knowing that his size is his moneymaker, but the movies do tend to accentuate his size and round face by chopping his hair into a bowl cut. Hung’s filmography is littered with roles where he plays the “fat” guy for comedic purposes just take a look at his filmography and see how many of his roles have the word “fat” attached to the name. SAMMO IS KING - Co-directing this with Peking Opera school alum and HK action veteran Corey Yuen, Sammo Hung is an international treasure that needs to be protected like the bald eagle, or Caribou Coffee. Some articles call them the Three Stooges of Hong Kong for their action comedy, but I’d rather think of them as De Niro, Pacino, and Pesci here’s hoping they get an Irishman-style sendoff later in their careers. They don’t really overshadow each other too much here the movie comes alive not when they’re fighting the bad guys, but when they’re acting and goofing off of each other. Chan, Hung, and Biao appear in three movies together ( Project A and Wheels on Meals are the others), and their chemistry and timing is so easy and comfortable. THE THREE DRAGONS - The “dragons” in the title refer to Chan, Hung, and Biao, who all started together in a Peking Opera school in Hong Kong, which gave them the acrobatics and weapons training that led to careers as actors and stunt doubles in the burgeoning HK movie industry. I’m not always the guy that looks backward to say that what has come before is better, but I don’t think you’ll see a cast so loaded with action talent as the ones from this era (era). Aside from the three leads, there is Wah Yuen ( Kung Fu Hustle), Billy Chow ( Fist of Legend), and Benny “the Jet” Urquidez, who plays the climactic villain in this and so many other films. I’VE SEEN YOU BEFORE - This movie was right in the sweet spot of Jackie Chan producing action martial arts stories placed in modern settings, and you get the full platter of Hong Kong action professionals here. The entire dungeon was trying to dodge traps while fighting enemies. That was the first time where I actually had to look where I was going and not rush in. Full of traps, and those zapping drones, It truly was a nightmare. The first time I truly felt like I was fighting for my life was when I went to the Forsaken Vaults. I felt like it was pretty easy even for hardcore and only had a scare when I wasn’t paying attention. I started the game on Normal difficulty with a hardcore character. I felt like there were a lot of memorable boss fights later on in the game and I really enjoyed this. A lot of the ground effects look really good and they are indicated well enough to be able to dodge them. The skills that they used were awesome and I bet it must be crazy on the harder difficulties. I like that they can be customized albeit limitedly, and I love that it can hold gear and sell and buy basic things.īosses are pretty cool and I loved the Grand Regent Eldrayn fight. Pets being able to learn skills is really cool. Hailstorm feels great to use, the sounds of the spells feel powerful, and I love some of the utility I get. I’ve only played the embermage but I’ve enjoyed the skills that they have. The story is pretty basic but the fighting is fun and this is the most important part in my opinion. The Ui is pretty easy to understand and the skills are explained well for the most part. That’s fine and I don’t fault the game for it. Not all npcs are fully voiced, so when you pick up a quest sometimes they only give you a sentence of dialogue. You can tell this is an indy game right away. It also makes the game much more accessible for people that have low powered machines. My reason for it is I feel like they age better than a game that tries to go for realism. Jumping into the game, I personally enjoy the more cartoony graphics. I have just completed Torchlight 2 Vanilla level 49 first playthrough hardcore embermage. I have been working on this starting from the very beginning of the game. I am biased I am human and my opinions probably are different than yours that's great let's move on. I have also previously played Diablo 3 which is my primary reference for ARPGs. Disclaimer This is for Vanilla TorchLight 2. It would also be pretty ironic if Pine took the role of Mister Fantastic after Krasinski took the part of Jack Ryan. However, he can still convey Reed Richards’s aloof and logical personality in order to stay true to the character (he would basically play both Kirk and Spock at the same time). Pine has already played the role of the daring space captain as James T. Marvel Studios may be looking for someone else to lead the Fantastic Four, and Chris Pine should be at the top of their list. It doesn’t seem likely that John Krasinski will continue to play Mister Fantastic after his brief appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Centineo can undoubtedly nail playing Bobby Drake as one of the X-Men’s new recruits and as a source of optimism and comic relief. His silly and energetic character immediately made him a fan favorite, and such a character very much mirrors that of Marvel’s number one freeze master, Iceman. Once the lattice is attached, you will likely want to cover the exposed holes with plugs or buttons to give it a neat and finished look. Additionally, if you want to attach the lattice directly to the fence boards, you can use a combination of smaller screws and construction adhesive to keep it secure. You can then attach the lattice to the frames with galvanized staples. Next, if the fence has posts, you can attach the frames to the top of the posts using galvanized deck screws.
